Nombramiento de D. Juan Paniagua Augusto como Presidente Honorífico de la Agrupación Andaluza.

                                          Me es grato comunicaros que en Asamblea Extraordinaria de la Agrupación Empresarial de Asociaciones de Vendedores de Prensa, celebrada a petición de los Presidentes y Delegados Provinciales, ayer día 26 de enero de 2010, se acordó por unanimidad, con todos los votos favorables, el nombramiento de Juan Paniagua Augusto como Presidente Honorífico.
                                      En la exposición de motivos para la propuesta, se destacó la incomparable labor realizada por este compañero Presidente en la lucha por los derechos de los Vendedores de Prensa a lo largo del tiempo del desarrollo de funciones en diversas Asociaciones.
                                  Cabe resaltar su trabajo iniciado en Torremolinos, en los años ochenta en la Asociación por la Independencia de esa pequeña ciudad. Posteriormente, en Granada,  fue requerido por D. Francisco Bartolomé, para formar parte de la Junta Directiva de la Antigua Asociación de Granada como Tesorero, tras lo cual se produjeron una serie de acontecimientos y dimisiones que le convirtieron en Presidente de la Junta Gestora de esa Asociación.
                              Empezó así el Movimiento Independiente, tras los enfrentamientos con Ideal y la ex Distribuidora Ricardo Rodríguez SL (Hoy día Distrimedios de Granada). El grupo formado por Juan Paniagua Augusto junto con Paco Bartolomé, Ángel Jesús Trujillo Rubia, Francisco Roldán Martín, Juan Toro Rodríguez Vicente Fernández, Andrés Fernández Fernández, Emilio Rodríguez Fernández, Dolores María Rodríguez Rubiño, María Lucía Rodríguez Alonso, Estrella Gómez Román, José Luis Carrillo Cervera, María Cabrera López, fueron los primeros que se enfrentaron abiertamente a la corrupción instaurada como norma en Granada desde hacía 75 años. Rompiendo así con una tradición de colaboracionismo con el Monopolio que controlaba la provincia y manipulaba a los vendedores de prensa.
     Esta es la labor que se le ha querido reconocer con el nombramiento de Presidente Honorífico, en estos momentos de delicada salud, y que ha sido ratificada por todos sus compañeros, pese a que según sus propias palabras: “atenta directamente contra el principio que he querido mantener siempre de igualdad y paralelismo entre todos nosotros. Quiero recordar que desde el principio de nuestra andadura en común siempre ha prevalecido mi condición de compañero. No en vano impuse la norma de que todos los Delegados ejercieran como presidentes de sus zonas, considerándome, a mí mismo, como un mero coordinador entre todos ellos”.
          Sin duda, la modestia ha sido siempre la característica de este hombre íntegro y ejemplar que no dudó nunca en sacrificarse por  sus compañeros.
       Se culmina así, el esfuerzo de todos nosotros por reconocer el trabajo de D. Juan Paniagua Augusto, pese a la oposición que siempre ha mantenido contra cualquier reconocimiento a sus méritos.
